Sunday, 4/1

Happy Easter everyone!! Today we drove through Mandeville to the Jamaican Deaf Village where we had church. We learned about our thirst for God as Christians and How Jesus experienced human suffering just as us. One thing that stuck out was the use of sign language throughout the service. In the worship instead of singing we signed along with the worship leader, Cresemore. It was a great experience for all of us students.

After Church we experienced a true Jamaican lunch of barbecue-jerk chicken and rice. We learned about what we were going to be doing this week and about CCCD from our great host Erin Davis. After orientation we attempted to play kick ball, but a storm fell upon us but we found shelter and waited out the storm. After the storm passed we had an intense, inter-team kickball game. In which team 1, lead by Danny Wiggins, beat team 2 , lead by Jeremy Einem, destroyed team 2, 16-8. After that we wrapped up our day with dinner and devotions, in which we learned about the privilege of prayer, and then we worshipped under the stars and now we are getting ready for bed and preparing for a week of work and spreading Gods love.

Sincerely, Grace Sanders, Holly Smith, Asher LaTurno, Daniel Wiggins and Jeremy Einem (team sky blue)
