Blog Post # 3

Our alarms sounded this morning around 7:30 and, for the most part, we all felt refreshed with about 8 hours of sleep under our belts. We were eager to get a nutritious breakfast and head out to the worksite!

Past year's projects required our team to split up into smaller teams to tackle multiple tasks. Today's project kept us all together to work on our first big opportunity. Our project manager was an awesome guy named Adrian. He was a very hard worker and kept us on pace to finish strong. Part of our team used sledge-hammers, pickaxes, and shovels to break up old rock from past landscaping and create space for new bricks and concrete to be laid out. The rest of our team worked together on prepping rebar, which involved straightening and cutting to the correct size.

It was hot and the project was not an easy one, but the Lord provided us with strength and endurance to make it through until lunch. We re-fueled and finished for the day before the rain came.

Just as we were finishing up, some of the CCCD kids who are here through the week were outside, full of energy, and ready for us to play with them. Our team was so excited to hang out with the kids, you couldn't tell that we had just worked outside in the sun for 6 hours.

We were able to play up until the dinner bell rang. After eating together, the evening consisted of some free time, devotions and a time of worship.

Please pray for endurance and great attitudes to continue through the week!
