From 39,000 Feet

First let's take a moment to recognize this post is coming to you from 39,000 feet. We're en route to Montego Bay from Chicago; its just after 11:30am EST; I hear wrappers crinkling and students chatting softly. After some debate over whether we were soaring over Kentucky or Tennessee, we finally discovered we're in North Carolina, shortly to cross into Georgia.

We had a safe flight from Detroit this morning, departing shortly after 7am and landing an hour and a half later. We had a short layover, during which we did a little shopping and breakfasted to the sounds of guitar and ukulele. You'll be glad to know that as far as we know, nobody ate candy or ice cream for breakfast. This is not of course to say no one considered it, but we'll protect the names of the innocent.

Once we land in Montego Bay, we face a four-hour ride through the mountains to Knockpatrick, on the southern half of the island. Please pray for calm stomachs and a safe drive; although we're well-stocked with Dramamine, it's going to be a steep and bumpy trip! Upon our arrival to Knockpatrick, we'll settle in, get the students fed, and blog a sequel update of this long day of travel.

We're stoked to have you joining with us via the blog, but we're not just here either. If social media is more your style, we've got a hashtag for you to follow on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook:
