The First Work Day

We made it through our first full day of work! The first item on our agenda, naturally, was breakfast.

In the morning, we split into groups and received work assignments.

We spent the next four or so hours painting,

installing concrete posts for the stairwell railings,

breaking up old tile flooring,

putting together bulletin boards,

and sorting the school supplies we brought for CCCD.

For lunch we ate fish, dumplings, collared greens, fried breadfruit, and sandwiches (cheese or PBJ).

In the afternoon we went to New Hope, a children's home in Mandeville, to spend time playing with the kids there. For privacy and their protection, we aren't able to show their faces online.

Shortly after returning from New Hope, we ate dinner.

We ended the night with two devotional sessions; the group that did dishes yesterday led us in the first and Jeremy spoke for the second before Josh led us in worship. The students had some time to spend how they chose before we all tumbled into bed and crashed for the night. We'll be up for another day of work tomorrow and are excited to update you further tomorrow evening!
