Day 2 and 3 Recap!

Thanks for tuning in with us again! It means a lot for us that you guys are wanting to support us in SO many ways, including wanting to follow a long with the story God is writing here in Jamaica. One of the ways you can support us is in prayer for one of our students Johnny Weidman. We were climbing "Big Tree" which is one of our routine activities here at CCCD. Johnny ended up landing wrong on a root on the ground as he was getting down and he broke his leg. We were blessed to have Erin (our partnering missionary here) and Katie take him to the nearby hospital right away where he was able to take x-rays, and meet with a radiologist and an orthopedic surgeon. He is doing great and will most likely need surgery when we get back to the US. He has a nice big soft cast on and is going back to get a hard cast Friday. He has been a trooper and is in great spirits despite everything. Please pray for him though to heal quickly and for the doctors to be effective. We'll keep you

SATURDAY

After an incredibly long day of travel, we arrived to CCCD, Knockpatrick safely! We left at midnight last night, drove to Chicago, flew to Montego Bay, and then drove to Knockpatrick arriving around 4:00. The 3 hour bus ride from the airport to the school was pretty quiet; that was the time most of our team were finally exhausted enough to sleep sitting up! However, God is faithful and gave us energy because right when we arrived, the kids from the school were ready to play! And so were we! Whether it was soccer, 4 square, sitting and talking, or playing tag, we all were able to jump right in and start building some relationships. We just finished our evening devo's and are looking forward to our beds! Tomorrow we have the opportunity to worship at a deaf church. We will keep you posted with everything else we do! Please keep praying for God to soften our hearts, a growing desire to serve, and effective communication. Thanks so much!
